Centre of Hope delegation visits SNAM
A four-man delegation from the Centre of Hope Orphanage at Abbosey Okai in Accra, recently visited the Offices of the Standard Newspapers and Magazines (SNAM) Ltd., publishers of The Catholic Standard to familiarize themselves with the activities of the Company.
The visit also formed part of activities to mark the Silver Jubilee of the Centre.

Rev. Sr. Cynthia Colette Mwaakpaar FMM, Administrator of the Centre who led the delegation, said the Centre with the assistance of volunteers and benefactors, embarks on home visitation to the poor and the sick, caters for older persons, physically challenged, cured lepers, people living with HIV/AIDS and their dependants.
She said it also supports poor, orphans and needy children in their education.

Sr. Mwaakpaar expressed appreciation to Societies, Organizations, individuals and Churches who had supported the Centre over the 25 years and asked for their continuous assistance to reach out to the less privileged in society.
Activities for the Anniversary celebration on the theme: 25 years of Inspiring Hope through Charity include outreach to Media Houses, Anniversary launch on February 1, visitation to selected Parishes and an Anniversary Lecture on the theme: The Church’s Role in Living the Mission of Charity: Challenges and Prospects,

Other activities are thanksgiving Mass and Awards ceremony on Sunday, August 2 at the Holy Family Parish, Mataheko and a day with beneficiaries and benefactors of the Centre on Saturday, December 12 at the Centre. 
Mr. Isaac Fritz Andoh, Managing Director of the Company, briefed them on the activities of The Catholic Standard and conducted them round the facility.
He commended the Centre for good work it was doing for the less fortunate in society.


Other members of the delegation were Mr. Eric Kobla Chapman, Board Member, Mrs. Theresa Ntiamoah-Mafo, Deputy Chairperson of the Board and Mr. Kwesi Yirenkyi Boateng, member of the Anniversary Planning Committee.
